We've been Shortlisted for Best Newcomer at the UKVA Awards 2023!

Ahhhhh!

We still can’t get over the fact we were Shortlisted for an award.

We know it’s such a clique to say we had no idea this was possible BUT we LITERALLY didn’t think it was and we cannot express how happy and grateful we are.

Whilst being Shortlisted doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll automatically be included as a finalist; we are just so honoured to be considered this far and it feels like we've already won!

To help us celebrate this achievement, we’ve put together a list of some of the key aspects of why being recognised is so much more than it might outwardly appear to be:

  • Peer and Industry Recognition: Being nominated for an award means you are being recognised by your peers and industry experts. It can open doors to new opportunities, collaborations, and connections, ultimately helping you advance in your career or endeavours.

  • Building Credibility and Trust: Awards can enhance your credibility and trustworthiness in your industry or profession. They demonstrate to clients and peers that you are a reliable expert in your field, which can lead to more opportunities and collaborations.

  • Motivation and Milestones: Being recognised can be a significant milestone in your journey towards success, serving as a helpful encouragement to keep pushing yourself, refine your skills, expand your knowledge, and pursue even loftier goals. It's the pat on the back you might not have realised you needed. It reminds you that you possess the skills, knowledge, and creativity to stand out in your chosen area.

  • Networking and Opportunities: Recognition often opens doors to networking opportunities. Being shortlisted brings you into contact with other like-minded individuals, potential collaborators, and mentors in your field. Connecting with other accomplished individuals in your industry can lead to valuable collaborations, mentorship relationships, and new avenues for growth and development.

  • A Chance to Reflect and Celebrate: Taking a moment to acknowledge the hurdles you've overcome, the lessons you've learned, and the growth you've experienced along the way. We often get swept up in the hustle and bustle of life so any opportunity to reflect on your achievements and celebrate your progress, shouldn’t be taken lightly! Every small step contributes to the bigger picture.

  • The Value of Self-Compassion: It's a reminder that you deserve recognition and validation for your hard work and dedication, just like anyone else. It reinforces the importance of being gentle with oneself and nurturing a positive self-image, even in the face of struggles. This self-awareness can be motivating and help you set new, ambitious goals.

Being Shortlisted for Best Newcomer at the UKVA Awards 2023 might seem like a small step for some, but it carries immense significance for us and we're so excited to celebrate with all our fellow VA's and nominees. See you all on the 13th October for the VA Conference and Gala Dinner 🎉 🤩
